How it Started

Kawasaki finds it’s origins in Japanese engine manufacturing. Kawasaki motors formed in 1963 when Meguro Manufacturing merged with Kawasaki Aircraft Industries giving birth to Kawasaki Motorcycle Co. Since then they have played a large part in popularizing air-cooled engines during their “superbike” era.

Speed is Key

From 1978 to 1982 Kawasaki won 4 out of 5 championships in the 350cc and 250cc categories of Grand Prix racing. Kawasaki developed a two stroke engine allowing for a higher power to weight ratio when compared to other bikes. This gave Kawasaki an edge that allowed them to dominate the track faster than everyone else..
